Description: When Tom, an ill-treated little chimney-sweep, jumps into a clear, cool stream to clean himself, somethihg fantastical happens; he is turned into a tiny water-baby by the fairies, and he enters a strange, magical underwater world.
Beneath river and sea, he travels beyond the world's end to the Other-end-of-Nowhere, getting into all sorts of scraps and encountering creatures beautiful and frightening along the way. He also learns a lot of important lessons - it is a voyage of discovery that Tom will never forget.
First published in 1863, this classic story (which has been ABRIDGED) is one to set you thinking and will continue to be a favorite for many years to come.
Owner Comments: Library Discard with all the stickers/stamps that implies. Fair to good condition. Spines creases and general cover wear (creases, scuffs, etc.) There are a few dogeared pages and possibly a couple dirt marks inside (nothing major and nothing I've noticed by flipping through alone.) Generally pages are clean and binding is in fine shape.
Condition: Fair Tags: fiction, Classics, Teen, Children and Teens, Fiction and Literature, Charles Kingsley, Puffin Classics |
